What is Gentle Yoga?

Sugi Yoga is a very gentle and non-painful style of yoga. It is a combination of Hatha Yoga and the Feldenkrais technique of movement. The goal of Sugi Yoga is gentle and respectful movement. It is the attitude of respecting what your body is telling you and paying close attention to that message, which results in experiencing a wider range of motion and comfort.

Sugi Yoga encourages a certain amount of movement in postures to keep comfort and to allow further exploration of the postures. It also helps to keep your mind engaged and cooperating with your body.

Benefits of Sugi Yoga

Sugi Yoga can be practiced by almost everyone. The movement skills taught in the Sugi class can benefit those who have lost movement or abilities through injury, illness or the aging process. It also enhances any athletic abilities such as: running, tennis, bowling, team sports and more.
