What to expect in a class
A Sugi Yoga class consists of the five following sequences
to allow for an optimal experience:
- Relaxation (Savasana)
- Warm-up
- Postures (Asana)
- Breathing excercises (Pranayama)
- Meditation
Students are encouraged to modify postures to accomodate limitations and/or previous injuries. Pushing your body to the edge of its limitations causes a natural reaction called "protective mode". This causes muscles to tighten up, restricting breathing and limiting movement. The student is reminded to monitor the body's comfort and well being.
